Goals and Objectives
Objectives - Zuka is colloquial for the 5c coin. South Africa no longer mints these coins since 31 March 2012. Subsequently, most people do not see nor attach any value to these coins, although they are still a legal tender.
We are quick to point out that using crowd funding, collecting one 5c coin from each individual in a stadium full of people can result in a substantial amount to be used as an economic driver.

Using this principle, Zuka's objective is to be a social enterprise that assists communities to change their perceptions and mindset so as to be able to see and unlock potential value in resources deemed as waste or worthless, and use these for wealth creation.
Goals - Zuka will help establish small Social Enterprises throughout the country. These will be involved in wealth creation projects ranging from waste up-cycling, detergent production, cosmetics production, agriculture, clothing and catering. |
The optimal goal of Zuka is to eliminate food insecurity and create long term sustainability. Volunteering workers get practical training to plant vegetables in social grant beneficiaries to start nurseries and to create seed banks from the waste gathered. This ensures a sustainable and long term system catering to the communities involved and also creates employment opportunities for the local individual.
